The level of armour that you need would depend on your threat level and the area in which you and/or the vehicle in question will be travelling through. The difference in the two levels available differs in terms of the protection it can provide and the attacks it can withstand. Additional elements and protection can also be fitted.
Factors to Consider when Choosing a Protection Level

Protection Levels
There are different armouring standards set for civilian vehicles. The one most commonly used globally is Ballistic Ratings (BR). This is a European classification standard against which materials and vehicle constructions are measured and certified. Materials are scaled into different grades that range from a level B4 to a level B7, with B7 being the highest protection available. In South Africa, there are only two levels of protection offered consisting of the B4 and the B6.
B4 Protection
With a B4 armour, you will be protected from weapons like the .44 magnums, .357 magnums, and 9-millimetre handguns. This level of armour is sufficient to protect you from hijackings, a smash and grab attempt, as well as from brick/rock throwing.
B6 Protection
With a B6 armour, you will be protected from just about any weapon which includes the likes of AK47s, R1 assault rifles and sniper rifles. This level of armour will grant you the ultimate protection, even in hostile territories.
