Herewith you will find some helpful maintenance tips for your armoured vehicle. To ensure your security is not compromised, and to help prolong the vehicle’s life expectancy, here are some things to be aware of with your armoured vehicle and what things to avoid.
Do’s
- Close the doors of the vehicle gently.
- Close the window before closing the door.
- Stick to the car’s maintenance schedule in terms of servicing.
- Inspect your car and engine regularly.
- Check your tyres and tyre pressure often – due to the additional weight, tyres may wear out faster depending on how often the car is used.
- Make sure to get tyres balanced and rotated so your car always run smoothly. Do alignment if you begin to struggle to keep your car straight.
- Check and replace your windshield wipers before they are completely worn out to avoid scratching your ballistic glass.
Don’ts
- Don’t leave doors to swing close on its own. The banging of the doors may result in the windows cracking.
- Don’t stick any suction mounts to any glass all around the car, inside and outside. This includes navigation holders, cellphone holders, camera holders, etc.
- Don’t use any chemicals to wash the glass. A small amount of dishwashing liquid is sufficient to clean the glass.
- Don’t wash the car/glass when the car is hot or has been standing in the sun for a while. Putting cold water on hot glass may result in cracks.
